We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice as the Income Franchise lead.   1. Develop and implement strategies for the Income Franchise team within the SALT practice.
  2. Oversee and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and exceptional client service.
  3. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in tax laws and regulations.
  5. Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for clients to minimize tax liabilities and maximize savings.
  6. Lead client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  7. Collaborate with other departments within KPMG to provide clients with comprehensive solutions.
  8. Mentor and train junior team members, fostering their professional development.
  9. Manage and review the preparation of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  10. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, working with the sales team to expand the firm's client base.
  11. Act as a thought leader within the tax industry, participating in conferences and events as a representative of KPMG.
  12. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of client information.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures within the Income Franchise team to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  14. Represent KPMG in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of State And Local Tax Laws: A Senior Manager, Salt - Income Franchise At Kpmg Should Have A Deep Understanding Of State And Local Tax Laws, Regulations, And Compliance Requirements. This Includes Income Tax, Franchise Tax, And Other Related Taxes.

  • Minimum 7-10 Years Of Experience In Salt: Kpmg Requires A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Relevant Experience In State And Local Tax, With A Focus On Income Franchise Tax. This Experience Should Include Working With Clients, Managing Teams, And Providing Strategic Advice.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Senior Manager, This Role Will Involve Managing A Team Of Tax Professionals And Working With Clients To Deliver High-Quality Services. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Management Skills Are Essential Qualifications For This Role.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Tax Concepts To Clients And Team Members Is Crucial For Success In This Role. A Senior Manager Should Also Have Strong Interpersonal Skills To Build And Maintain Relationships With Clients And Colleagues.

  • Cpa Or Jd Degree: A Cpa Or Jd Degree Is Strongly Preferred For This Position. This Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Tax Laws And Regulations And Is Highly Valued By Clients. Additionally, Having One Of These Qualifications Can Lead To More Opportunities For Advancement Within Kpmg.
