Job Description

Welcome to KPMG, one of the leading professional services firms in the world. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Disaster Recovery to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery plans for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for helping organizations prepare for and mitigate potential disasters.   1. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for clients, ensuring their business operations and critical systems are prepared for potential disasters.
  2. Lead and manage a team of disaster recovery specialists, providing guidance and support in creating and maintaining effective recovery plans.
  3. Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored disaster recovery solutions.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations related to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  5. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities in client's business operations and systems.
  6. Coordinate and conduct disaster recovery drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of plans and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Monitor and track progress of disaster recovery plans, and make necessary adjustments to ensure they are continuously updated and relevant.
  8. Communicate with clients and stakeholders on the status of disaster recovery efforts and provide regular reports.
  9. Serve as a subject matter expert on disaster recovery, providing guidance and recommendations to clients and colleagues.
  10. Collaborate with other departments within KPMG to integrate disaster recovery planning into overall business strategies.
  11. Continuously evaluate and enhance disaster recovery processes and procedures to ensure they meet industry standards and client expectations.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with disaster recovery vendors and partners to ensure the availability of necessary resources and support for clients.
  13. Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of disaster recovery efforts.
  14. Participate in business development activities, including proposals and presentations, to showcase KPMG's disaster recovery capabilities to potential clients.
  15. Uphold KPMG's values and code of conduct in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Disaster Recovery Planning And Implementation: The Director Of Disaster Recovery At Kpmg Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Executing Successful Disaster Recovery Plans For Organizations Of Varying Sizes And Industries.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Standards Such As Iso 22301, Nist Sp 800-34, And Hipaa, And Should Be Able To Apply Them Effectively To Ensure Compliance.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: The Director Of Disaster Recovery Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Professionals, So Strong Leadership And Management Skills Are Essential. This Includes The Ability To Motivate And Inspire Team Members, Delegate Tasks, And Oversee Project Timelines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Key Liaison Between Kpmg And Its Clients, The Director Of Disaster Recovery Should Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders And Build Strong Relationships With Clients.

  • Technical Expertise: While The Director Of Disaster Recovery May Not Be Responsible For Hands-On Technical Tasks, They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of It Infrastructure, Networks, And Data Management. This Will Enable Them To Make Informed Decisions And Provide Strategic Guidance To Clients During Disaster Recovery Planning And Execution.
