- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' wounds and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide specialized wound care treatments, including wound debridement and dressing changes.
- Monitor and document patients' wound progress and communicate any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques and preventative measures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective wound treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest wound care techniques and advancements in the field.
- Advocate for patients' needs and ensure their comfort and well-being throughout the wound care process.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide support and address any concerns.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all wound care interventions.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
- Continuously evaluate and reassess patients' wound care needs and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the wound care process.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare staff regarding wound care best practices.
Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Practice
Certification In Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Nursing (Cwocn) Or Certified Wound Care Nurse (Cwcn)
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Wound Care, Preferably In A Long-Term Care Or Acute Care Setting
Knowledge And Understanding Of Wound Care Protocols And Best Practices, Including The Ability To Assess, Diagnose, And Treat Various Types Of Wounds
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Collaborate With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Healthcare Teams.
