As a Unit Secretary, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our unit by providing administrative and clerical support to our healthcare team.   1. Provide administrative and clerical support to the healthcare team on the unit.
  2. Greet and welcome patients and their families, as well as visitors, in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  5. Schedule appointments and coordinate meetings for the healthcare team.
  6. Monitor and order office supplies and equipment as needed.
  7. Assist with discharge planning and making follow-up appointments for patients.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members, both in person and through written correspondence.
  9. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  10. Utilize computer software and electronic medical records to input and retrieve patient information.
  11. Coordinate and manage the unit's filing system to ensure easy accessibility and organization.
  12. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations in the unit.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the unit manager or supervisor.
