In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services department, providing assistance and support to our surgical team and patients.   1. Assist surgical team: The Surgical Services Support Technician will be responsible for providing assistance to the surgical team before, during, and after procedures. This may include setting up equipment, preparing supplies, and handing instruments to surgeons.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and organization: The technician will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized surgical environment to ensure the safety and efficiency of the procedures.
  3. Monitor patient comfort and safety: The technician will be responsible for monitoring patient comfort and safety during procedures, including positioning patients and monitoring vital signs.
  4. Communicate effectively: The technician will be responsible for effectively communicating with the surgical team, patients, and their families to provide updates and address any concerns.
  5. Adhere to safety protocols: The technician will be responsible for following all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff.
  6. Prepare and maintain equipment: The technician will be responsible for preparing and maintaining surgical equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition for procedures.
  7. Assist with patient care: The technician will be responsible for assisting with patient care, including transporting patients to and from the surgical department and providing basic care and comfort measures.
  8. Document and record information: The technician will be responsible for accurately documenting and recording patient information, procedure details, and any other relevant data.
  9. Adhere to HIPAA regulations: The technician will be responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
  10. Collaborate with team members: The technician will work closely with other healthcare team members, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  11. Attend trainings and meetings: The technician will be responsible for attending trainings and meetings to stay updated on new procedures and equipment and to continuously improve their skills.
  12. Provide exceptional patient care: The technician will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for all patients.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Role Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Understanding Of The Necessary Skills And Knowledge For The Job.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Or Certified Surgical First Assistant (Csfa) Certification: Kindred Healthcare Prefers Candidates Who Have Obtained A Cst Or Csfa Certification, Showing Knowledge And Proficiency In Surgical Procedures And Techniques.

  • Previous Experience In A Surgical Setting: Candidates With Prior Experience In A Surgical Setting, Such As A Surgical Technologist Or Operating Room Assistant, Will Have An Advantage In This Role. This Experience Allows For A Smoother Transition Into The Surgical Services Support Technician Position.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Well With A Team Is Crucial In A Surgical Setting. Surgical Procedures Require Coordination And Cooperation With Various Healthcare Professionals, Making Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Essential For This Role.

  • Physical Dexterity And Stamina: Surgical Services Support Technicians May Be Required To Stand For Long Periods Of Time, Lift Heavy Equipment, And Perform Precise Tasks With Their Hands. Candidates Should Have Physical Dexterity And Stamina To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
