  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to newborn patients in the Nursery department.
  2. Monitor and assess the health status of newborns, including vital signs, feeding, and overall well-being.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Educate and support parents and families on caring for their newborns, including breastfeeding, bathing, and other essential newborn care tasks.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each newborn patient.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including charting assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  7. Monitor and maintain a safe and clean environment for newborn patients, following infection control protocols.
  8. Recognize and respond to emergency situations, providing immediate and appropriate interventions as needed.
  9. Serve as an advocate for newborn patients and their families, addressing their concerns and needs with empathy and professionalism.
  10. Stay current with industry developments and best practices in newborn care, incorporating new knowledge into practice.
  11. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the highest quality of care for newborn patients.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure compliance with standards of care.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, serving as a role model for other staff members.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development to enhance skills and knowledge in newborn care.
  15. Foster a culture of excellence and teamwork within the Nursery department, promoting a positive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Registered Nurse In The Nursery Unit At Kindred Healthcare Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Which Provides A Comprehensive Understanding Of Nursing Principles, Theories, And Practices.

  • Active Rn License: The Candidate Should Have A Valid And Active Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Up To Date With The Latest Nursing Practices And Regulations.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certification: Since The Nursery Unit Deals With Newborns, It Is Essential For The Registered Nurse To Have Nrp Certification. This Certification Demonstrates The Nurse's Ability To Handle Emergency Situations And Provide Life-Saving Interventions For Newborns.

  • Experience In Neonatal Care: Kindred Healthcare Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience In Neonatal Care, As This Specialized Area Of Nursing Requires Specific Skills And Knowledge. This Experience Can Be Gained Through Internships, Clinical Rotations, Or Previous Employment In A Neonatal Unit.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Nursery Nurse Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate With Parents, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Team Members.
