  1. Collect blood specimens from patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Ensure accuracy and integrity of collected specimens.
  3. Follow established protocols and procedures for specimen collection and handling.
  4. Maintain a safe and sterile environment for both patients and staff.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients to provide a positive and comfortable experience.
  6. Work closely with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient laboratory processes.
  7. Maintain proper documentation and labeling of collected specimens.
  8. Properly dispose of biohazardous materials according to established guidelines.
  9. Handle and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing.
  10. Keep inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment and report any shortages or malfunctions.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  13. Continuously strive to improve processes and provide exceptional patient care.
  14. Attend required trainings and stay updated on industry developments and best practices.
  15. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care for patients.
  16. Assist with other tasks as needed to support the healthcare team.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification From A Recognized Phlebotomy Program: Kindred Healthcare Requires All Phlebotomists To Have Completed A Phlebotomy Training Program And Obtained Certification From A Recognized Certifying Agency, Such As The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa) Or The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Experience In Venipuncture And Specimen Collection: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Venipuncture And Specimen Collection, Preferably In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Techniques For Blood Collection, Handling And Labeling Of Specimens, And Understanding Of Infection Control Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Laboratory Procedures: Phlebotomists At Kindred Healthcare Must Possess A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Laboratory Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Blood Tests, Their Purpose And Procedure, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Identify And Label Different Types Of Specimens.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Phlebotomist, You Will Be Interacting With Patients On A Daily Basis. Kindred Healthcare Values Candidates Who Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Make Patients Feel Comfortable During The Blood Draw Process.

  • Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Independently: The Role Of A Phlebotomist Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail And The Ability To Work Independently. Kindred Healthcare Looks For Candidates Who Are Organized, Detail-Oriented, And Able To Work Efficiently Without Constant Supervision.
