As a Phlebotomist at Kindred Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in our patients' care by collecting and preparing blood samples for laboratory testing.   1. Collect and prepare blood samples from patients for laboratory testing.
  2. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all blood samples collected.
  3. Ensure proper handling and labeling of all blood samples.
  4. Follow established protocols and safety measures in all phlebotomy procedures.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and comfortable experience.
  6. Monitor patient reactions and address any concerns or complications during the phlebotomy process.
  7. Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of blood samples.
  8. Keep up-to-date with phlebotomy techniques, procedures, and equipment to provide the highest quality of care.
  9. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazard materials.
  11. Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients.
  12. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Kindred Healthcare.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Phlebotomy: Candidates For The Phlebotomist Position At Kindred Healthcare Must Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Phlebotomy Is Essential For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Blood Collection Techniques, Safety Protocols, And Specimen Handling.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Phlebotomist At Kindred Healthcare, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Colleagues, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial. Strong Interpersonal Skills Are Also Necessary To Build Rapport With Patients And Create A Comfortable Environment For Blood Collection.

  • Attention To Detail And Ability To Multi-Task: Phlebotomists Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have The Ability To Multi-Task In A Fast-Paced Environment. This Includes Accurately Labeling And Documenting Specimens, Organizing Workloads, And Prioritizing Tasks To Ensure Timely And Accurate Results.
