Job Description

The Patient Access Representative at Kindred Healthcare is a critical role that acts as a liaison between our patients and hospital staff. If you have a passion for providing excellent customer service and have the qualifications and skills we’re looking for, this could be the perfect job for you! We’re looking for a patient-focused individual who can demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in the healthcare industry, as well as a working knowledge of medical terminology. A high school diploma or GED is also required. Additionally, successful candidates should have strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities in order to effectively juggle multiple tasks. Our Patient Access Representative should also be able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining professional and helpful.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients
  2. Provide excellent customer service to patients
  3. Communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff
  4. Demonstrate a working knowledge of medical terminology
  5. Maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
  6. Utilize problem-solving and multitasking skills to juggle multiple tasks
  7. Ensure patient information is handled in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  8. Assist in the registration process and verify insurance eligibility
  9. Accurately enter patient information into the hospital’s system
  10. Collect payments and prepare invoices for the patient’s accounts
