- Monitor and interpret the vital signs of patients, including EKG rhythms, to ensure their safety and well-being
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide accurate and timely updates on patient conditions
- Troubleshoot and respond to alarms and alerts from monitoring equipment
- Document all observations and actions taken in patient medical records
- Maintain and calibrate monitoring equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality
- Recognize and report any abnormalities or changes in patient vital signs to appropriate healthcare providers
- Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and reassurance as needed
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on advancements in monitoring technology and techniques
- Foster a positive and compassionate environment for patients and their loved ones.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Completion Of A Monitor Technician Training Program Or Equivalent Experience.
Certification As A Cardiac Monitor Technician (Cmt) Or Equivalent.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Monitoring Or Cardiac Unit.
Familiarity With Ekg Interpretation And Ability To Recognize And Report Abnormal Heart Rhythms.
