
Monitor Technician

- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Utilize electronic medical records and other technology to accurately document patient information.
- Recognize and promptly report any abnormal cardiac rhythms or changes in patient condition to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures related to patient monitoring.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including regularly cleaning and maintaining monitoring equipment.
- Continuously assess and improve monitoring techniques and processes to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns regarding cardiac monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attend and actively participate in training and educational sessions to stay current on EKG interpretation and other relevant skills.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor or healthcare team members.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Monitor Technician At Kindred Healthcare Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures A Basic Level Of Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Mathematics, And Computer Skills.
Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls): Candidates Should Possess A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association (Aha) Or The American Red Cross. This Certification Is Necessary For Responding To Emergency Situations And Performing Life-Saving Techniques.
Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience As A Monitor Technician Or In A Healthcare Setting Is Preferred. This Experience Will Provide A Foundation Of Knowledge And Skills Related To Patient Care And Monitoring.
Knowledge Of Cardiac Rhythms And Interpretation: Monitor Technicians At Kindred Healthcare Are Responsible For Identifying And Reporting Any Irregular Cardiac Rhythms. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Cardiac Rhythms And Be Able To Accurately Interpret Them.
