
Medical Technologist

- Conduct and perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently, including but not limited to hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank.
- Analyze and interpret test results, and communicate findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot any issues, and ensure proper functioning for accurate results.
- Follow established laboratory procedures and protocols, as well as adhere to safety and infection control guidelines.
- Ensure that all documentation, records, and reports are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of laboratory testing.
- Stay current with new techniques and procedures in medical technology, and implement them as appropriate.
- Train and mentor new laboratory staff, as well as provide guidance and support to other team members.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, and provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
- Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as Kindred Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings, continuing education programs, and other professional development opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the laboratory manager or supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field.
Certification As A Medical Technologist (Mt) Or Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency, Such As Ascp Or Amt.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment, Procedures, And Quality Control Measures.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, With Excellent Communication And Time Management Skills.
