  1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures to ensure the prevention and control of infections within the healthcare facility.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential sources of infections and implement measures to mitigate these risks.
  3. Monitor and track infection rates and trends, and report findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide education and training on infection control practices and protocols.
  5. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulations.
  6. Investigate and manage outbreaks of infections within the facility, including identifying the source and implementing control measures.
  7. Stay up-to-date with current infection control guidelines and best practices, and implement changes as necessary.
  8. Act as a resource for staff, patients, and families regarding infection control protocols and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with external agencies and healthcare partners to promote a safe and healthy environment.
  10. Participate in the development and review of infection control policies and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and relevance.
  11. Maintain accurate records of infection control activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  12. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including healthcare staff, patients, families, and regulatory agencies.
  13. Serve as a role model for infection control practices and promote a culture of safety and infection prevention throughout the facility.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control and patient safety.
  15. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in the performance of job duties.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Experience In Infection Prevention And Control In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Infection Control, Including Cdc Guidelines.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Healthcare Staff On Infection Control Practices.
