Job Description

Looking for a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional to join our team as an Infection Control/ Employee Health Nurse at Kindred Healthcare.   1. Develop and implement infection control protocols and procedures to prevent and contain the spread of infections within the facility.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments of infection control practices to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  3. Educate and train staff on infection control measures, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and isolation precautions.
  4. Monitor and track infection rates and trends to identify and respond to potential outbreaks.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control policies and procedures.
  6. Serve as a resource and advisor for staff on infection control issues and provide guidance on best practices.
  7. Conduct employee health screenings and maintain employee health records to ensure a healthy work environment.
  8. Coordinate and administer immunizations and screenings for employees as required by state and federal regulations.
  9. Investigate and report any employee infections or exposures to infectious diseases in a timely and accurate manner.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current infection control practices, guidelines, and regulations, and make recommendations for improvements based on new research and evidence.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  12. Communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to infection control.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of the job.
  14. Adhere to all facility policies and procedures and comply with all government regulations.
  15. Foster a positive and respectful work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and professional growth.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn Licensure In The State Of Practice

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field

  • Certification In Infection Control (Cic) Or Willingness To Obtain Within 6 Months Of Hire

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Infection Control And Employee Health

  • Knowledge Of Cdc Guidelines, Osha Regulations, And State/Federal Healthcare Regulations Related To Infection Control And Employee Health.
