  1. Develop and implement infection control policies and protocols to ensure the safety of patients and employees.
  2. Conduct regular training and education sessions for staff on infection control measures and best practices.
  3. Monitor and track infectious disease outbreaks within the facility and provide timely updates to management.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify and manage potential infection risks.
  5. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
  6. Investigate and report any suspected or confirmed cases of infectious diseases among staff and patients.
  7. Develop and maintain employee health programs, including immunization schedules and wellness initiatives.
  8. Provide ongoing support and resources to employees regarding health and safety concerns.
  9. Stay updated on current infection control trends and guidelines, and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the facility and local health authorities, and assist with any required reporting or response to outbreaks.
  11. Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of infection control supplies and equipment.
  12. Assist with the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans related to infectious diseases.
  13. Communicate infection control updates and protocols to staff and patients as needed.
  14. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to infection control and employee health.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control and employee health.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Typically Required For An Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse Position At Kindred Healthcare. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Clinical Practice, And Leadership Skills Necessary For This Role.

  • Certification In Infection Control: Kindred Healthcare May Require Certification In Infection Control, Such As The Certified In Infection Control (Cic) Credential, As A Qualification For This Role. This Demonstrates Expertise And Knowledge In Preventing And Controlling The Spread Of Infections In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Experience In Employee Health: Candidates For An Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse Position At Kindred Healthcare Should Have Previous Experience In Employee Health, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Conducting Pre-Employment Health Screenings, Managing Employee Health Records, And Developing And Implementing Healthcare Policies For Employees.

  • Knowledge Of Infection Control Practices: An Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse At Kindred Healthcare Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control Practices And Protocols. This Includes Knowledge Of Cdc Guidelines, Osha Regulations, And Other Infection Control Standards To Prevent And Manage Healthcare-Associated Infections.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Healthcare Staff, Patients, And Families Regarding Infection Control Practices And Policies. Candidates Should Also Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Lead And Educate Others In Infection Control Practices And Promote A Culture Of Safety Within The Organization.
