- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and promote a safe and healthy environment for employees and patients.
- Conduct regular infection control audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern and develop strategies for prevention and control.
- Educate and train staff on infection control measures, including hand hygiene, proper use of personal protective equipment, and isolation precautions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to monitor and report on the incidence of infections within the facility and develop strategies for prevention and control.
- Serve as a resource for staff and patients on infection control best practices and provide guidance on appropriate infection control measures for specific patient populations.
- Conduct employee health screenings and assessments, including immunizations and communicable disease testing, to promote the health and safety of employees and prevent the spread of infections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of infection control activities and employee health data.
- Investigate and report on any outbreaks or clusters of infections within the facility and take appropriate action to prevent further spread.
- Collaborate with the infection control committee to review and revise infection control policies and procedures as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on current infection control practices and guidelines and make recommendations for improvement within the facility.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide updates on infection control and employee health issues.
- Serve as a liaison with local and state health departments and other healthcare facilities to ensure proper reporting and communication of infectious diseases.
- Monitor and manage the inventory of infection control and employee health supplies and equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee health information.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality care by adhering to all ethical and professional standards.
Current Rn Licensure And Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From A Recognized Organization Such As The Association For Professionals In Infection Control And Epidemiology (Apic).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Infection Control And Employee Health In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Infection Control, Employee Health, And Workplace Safety.
Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Staff On Infection Control Practices.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Infection Control Policies And Procedures.
