As the supervisor of our health information management department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of our patients' medical records.   1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the health information management department to ensure the accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the maintenance and security of patient medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  3. Train and supervise a team of health information management staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff members, providing feedback and addressing any performance issues that may arise.
  5. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient records by conducting regular audits and reviews.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely retrieval and delivery of patient records as needed.
  7. Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare regulations and inform staff of any updates or changes that may affect their work.
  8. Oversee the maintenance and organization of physical and electronic medical records to ensure easy access and retrieval.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to ensure the proper management of patient records.
  10. Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, changes, and expectations within the department.
  11. Collaborate with the IT department to ensure the security and confidentiality of patient records.
  12. Act as a liaison between the health information management department and other departments within the organization.
  13. Handle any escalated issues or concerns related to patient records and provide appropriate resolutions.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures within the health information management department to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional working environment within the department, promoting teamwork and collaboration.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Health Information Management, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role.

  • Certification As A Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Or Registered Health Information Technician (Rhit) Through The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).

  • Strong Knowledge Of Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act (Hipaa) Regulations.

  • Excellent Organizational, Communication, And Leadership Skills.
