- Prepare and serve nutritious meals for patients according to their dietary needs and restrictions.
- Ensure all meals are served in a timely manner and at the appropriate temperature.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to gather and accommodate dietary requests and preferences.
- Collaborate with Registered Dietitians to ensure patients' special dietary needs are met.
- Monitor and record patients' food and fluid intake.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards patients and their families.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations.
- Provide assistance to other dietary staff members as needed.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of service and patient satisfaction.
- Represent the company in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Level Of Education Is Required For This Position To Ensure Understanding Of Basic Math, Reading, And Writing Skills.
Food Service Experience: Previous Experience In Food Service, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is Preferred. This Will Demonstrate The Ability To Safely Handle Food, Follow Recipes, And Understand Dietary Restrictions.
Knowledge Of Nutrition And Special Diets: A Strong Understanding Of Nutrition And Special Diets Is Necessary In Order To Accurately Prepare Meals For Patients With Specific Dietary Needs.
Ability To Work Prn (As Needed): This Position Requires The Ability To Work On An As-Needed Basis, Which Means Being Available To Work On Short Notice. Flexibility In Scheduling Is Essential.
Team Player Attitude: As A Dietary Aide Prn, It Is Important To Have A Positive Attitude And Work Well With Others. This Position Involves Working Closely With The Dietary Team As Well As Other Healthcare Professionals, So Strong Teamwork Skills Are A Must.
