  • Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients, ensuring accurate and timely collection of blood samples
  • Prepare and label samples for laboratory testing, following proper protocols and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials
  • Utilize laboratory equipment and technology to perform tests and analyze results
  • Communicate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results
  • Handle and process specimens in a safe and efficient manner
  • Follow established safety and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
  • Provide compassionate and supportive care to patients during the blood collection process
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of laboratory procedures and results
  • Attend and participate in training and educational opportunities to stay current in phlebotomy techniques and procedures

  • Active Phlebotomy Certification: The Ideal Candidate For A Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist Job At Kindred Healthcare Should Possess An Active Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution. This Demonstrates Proficiency In Drawing Blood And Following Proper Protocols For Specimen Collection And Handling.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures, Including Sample Preparation, Processing, And Storage. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Tests And Their Purposes, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Record And Report Test Results.

The Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols To Avoid Errors In Sample Collection, Labeling, And Processing.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Successful Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients To Ensure Their Comfort And Understanding During The Blood Draw Process, As Well As Communicating With Other Healthcare Professionals To Relay Test Results And Any Relevant Information.
