Job Description

Kindred Healthcare is seeking a skilled and empathetic RN to join our Behavioral Health Unit. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care and support to individuals with mental health disorders.   1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients with behavioral health issues.
  2. Monitor and assess patients' mental and emotional well-being, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Implement and maintain safety measures for patients to prevent self-harm or harm to others.
  6. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  7. Document patient care and progress accurately and thoroughly.
  8. Communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  9. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
  10. Remain up-to-date on evidence-based practices and advancements in the field of behavioral health.
  11. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  12. Demonstrate empathy, understanding, and patience towards patients and their families.
  13. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  14. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  16. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  17. Act as an advocate for patients, promoting their rights and dignity.
  18. Handle crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.
  19. Conduct patient and family education on discharge planning and follow-up care.
  20. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Employment.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Preferred.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Behavioral Health Nursing.

  • Bls Certification From The American Heart Association.

  • Knowledge Of Psychiatric Medications And Experience With Behavioral Health Crisis Intervention.
