  1. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients according to physician's orders.
  2. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  3. Review patient medical history and communicate with physicians to determine appropriate ultrasound protocols.
  4. Accurately document patient information and maintain patient records.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with necessary information and support during procedures.
  6. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Continuously stay updated on new ultrasound techniques and technology.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  12. Provide guidance and training to students and new ultrasound technicians.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  14. Attend departmental meetings and contribute to discussions and initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Ultrasound Technology Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Program Accredited By The Commission On Accreditation Of Allied Health Education Programs (Caahep) Or The Joint Review Committee On Education In Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Jrc-Dms).

  • Ardms Certification: The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Offers Certification In Various Specialties Such As Abdomen, Obstetrics And Gynecology, And Vascular Technology. Candidates Must Be Certified In At Least One Specialty To Be Considered For The Position.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience As An Ultrasound Technician In A Hospital Or Clinic Setting Is Preferred. This Ensures That Candidates Are Familiar With The Demands And Protocols Of A Healthcare Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Ultrasound Equipment And Technology: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Ultrasound Equipment And Technology, Including How To Operate And Maintain It. They Should Also Be Familiar With Various Imaging Techniques And Be Able To Troubleshoot Technical Issues.

  • Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Ultrasound Technicians Work Closely With Patients And Other Healthcare Professionals, So Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills Are Essential. Candidates Should Be Able To Explain Procedures To Patients, Answer Questions, And Work Effectively As Part Of A Team.
