- Safely and efficiently transport patients to various areas within the hospital, including but not limited to, diagnostic imaging, procedure rooms, and patient rooms.
- Perform EKG procedures on patients using proper techniques and equipment.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion when interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during transportation, including proper positioning and use of equipment.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for patient transport and EKG procedures.
- Accurately record and document patient transport and EKG information in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment and patient transport vehicles.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to protect both patients and staff.
- Attend and participate in training and education opportunities to stay updated on new techniques and protocols.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by actively seeking feedback and implementing suggestions to enhance job performance.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Act as a positive representative of Kettering Health Network, promoting a positive image and excellent customer service.
- Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to emergency situations, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or department leadership.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required To Be Considered For The Transporter/Ekg Tech Position At Kettering Health Network.
Certification In Ekg Or Cardiovascular Technology: Candidates Should Have A Certification In Ekg Or Cardiovascular Technology From An Accredited Institution. This Will Ensure That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Ekg Tests Accurately And Efficiently.
Experience In Patient Transportation: Previous Experience In Patient Transportation Is Preferred For This Position. This Includes Experience In Safely And Efficiently Moving Patients From One Location To Another Within A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Knowledge Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For This Role As The Transporter/Ekg Tech Will Be Required To Communicate With Healthcare Professionals And Understand Medical Instructions And Terminology.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Provide Clear And Concise Instructions, As Well As The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Team.
