  1. Assist neurosurgeons during complex surgical procedures
  2. Utilize expertise and knowledge to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
  3. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
  4. Set up surgical trays and supplies according to protocol
  5. Ensure a sterile environment in the operating room
  6. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
  7. Provide support and assistance to the surgical team as needed
  8. Monitor and document patient vital signs and other pertinent information
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures and supplies used
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
  11. Remain current on advancements and changes in neurosurgical techniques and equipment
  12. Collaborate and communicate effectively with other healthcare team members
  13. Participate in training and mentoring of new surgical technologists
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: Candidates For The Surgical Technologist, Neuro Specialty Position At Kettering Health Network Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology. This Ensures That They Have Received Proper Training And Education In The Field.

  • Certification As A Surgical Technologist: Kettering Health Network Requires All Surgical Technologists, Neuro Specialty To Hold A Valid Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Skill In The Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Neurosurgical Setting: Candidates Must Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technologist In A Neurosurgical Setting. This Ensures That They Have A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Procedures And Equipment Used In This Specialty.

  • Knowledge Of Neurosurgical Equipment And Procedures: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Specialized Equipment And Procedures Used In Neurosurgery. This Includes Knowledge Of Cranial And Spinal Surgeries, As Well As The Ability To Assist With Imaging And Monitoring Equipment.
