Welcome to Kettering Health Network! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sleep Tech Certified to join our Sleep Center team.   1. Conduct sleep studies: Perform diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies on patients using a variety of sleep monitoring equipment.
  2. Monitor patients during sleep studies: Ensure the safety and comfort of patients while they are asleep, and make necessary adjustments to equipment if needed.
  3. Record and analyze data: Accurately record and analyze sleep data, including brain waves, heart rate, and breathing patterns, to assist in the diagnosis of sleep disorders.
  4. Educate patients: Explain the sleep study process and results to patients, and provide education on sleep hygiene and healthy sleep habits.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare team: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders.
  6. Maintain equipment: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of sleep monitoring equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols: Follow established safety protocols and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Keep accurate records: Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient information and sleep study results.
  9. Stay updated on industry advancements: Stay current on the latest advancements and best practices in sleep medicine to provide the highest quality care to patients.
  10. Provide excellent patient care: Foster a welcoming and compassionate environment for patients, and provide exceptional care and support to help improve their quality of life.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Sleep Technologist: A Sleep Tech Certified At Kettering Health Network Must Hold A Current Certification From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt) As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Or A Sleep Disorders Specialist (Sds).

  • Clinical Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Sleep Center Setting. This Experience Should Include Performing Overnight Sleep Studies, Scoring Sleep Data, And Providing Patient Education On Sleep Disorders And Treatment Options.

  • Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders And Treatment: The Sleep Tech Certified Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Sleep Disorders And Treatment Modalities, Including Cpap Therapy, Bi-Level Therapy, And Oxygen Therapy. They Should Also Be Knowledgeable About The Latest Advancements In Sleep Medicine And Technology.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Sleep Tech Certified Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Should Be Able To Explain Complex Concepts In A Clear And Understandable Manner And Provide Detailed Instructions To Patients On How To Use Sleep Equipment.

  • Attention To Detail: The Sleep Tech Certified Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Accurately Monitor And Record Sleep Data During Overnight Studies. They Should Also Be Able To Troubleshoot Technical Issues With Sleep Equipment And Ensure That All Equipment Is Properly Calibrated And Functioning Correctly.
