Job Description

"As a Sleep Tech Certified professional at Kettering Health Network, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of sleep for our patients. Using your expertise and specialized training, you will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, ensuring our patients receive the best care possible.   1. Conduct sleep studies and other diagnostic tests to identify and assess sleep disorders in patients.
  2. Monitor patients during sleep studies and maintain accurate records of their sleep patterns and behaviors.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders.
  4. Perform CPAP and other therapies to treat sleep disorders and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  5. Educate patients on sleep hygiene and techniques to improve sleep quality.
  6. Maintain knowledge of current sleep technology and techniques to provide the most effective care for patients.
  7. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during sleep studies.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records and test results.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
  10. Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines while performing sleep studies and other duties.
  11. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay updated on advancements in sleep technology and treatment.
  12. Collaborate with other sleep technologists to ensure efficient and effective workflow in the sleep center.
  13. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while interacting with patients and colleagues.
  14. Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of sleep study equipment.
  15. Adhere to the code of ethics and professional standards set forth by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Sleep Technology: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Certification In Sleep Technology From A Recognized Accrediting Body, Such As The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt) Or The American Academy Of Sleep Medicine (Aasm).

  • Knowledge Of Polysomnography: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Polysomnography And Be Able To Perform Overnight Sleep Studies, Including Electrode Application, Monitoring And Scoring Of Sleep Stages, Respiratory Events, And Other Physiological Parameters.

  • Experience With Sleep Disorders: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Diagnosing And Treating Various Sleep Disorders, Such As Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, Narcolepsy, And Restless Leg Syndrome.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Job Requires Frequent Interaction With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Explain Complex Sleep Study Results In A Clear And Understandable Manner.

  • Ability To Work In A Team: The Sleep Tech Certified Job At Kettering Health Network Involves Working Closely With Other Sleep Technologists, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Candidate Should Be Able To Work Well In A Team Environment And Collaborate Effectively To Provide The Best Possible Care For Patients.
