Job Description

Kettering Health Network is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician who is passionate about providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a strong aptitude for multitasking and problem-solving, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. The Pharmacy Technician must have a current Pharmacy Technician certificate or license and must possess a thorough understanding of pharmacy terminology, drug classes, and pharmaceutical calculations. Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with the orders of physicians and other authorized prescribers.
  2. Read and interpret prescriptions to determine appropriate dosage, route of administration, and other pertinent information.
  3. Maintain accuracy in recordkeeping, including prescription data, patient profiles, and inventory control.
  4. Monitor and report any potentially dangerous drug interactions or allergic reactions to the pharmacist.
  5. Assist customers with questions and provide educational information as needed.
  6. Follow all safety and health regulations and guidelines as outlined by the pharmacy.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest medications and industry trends.
  8. Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations involving pharmacy practice.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
