- Safely and efficiently transport patients to and from various areas within the facility, including but not limited to, patient rooms, diagnostic areas, and treatment areas.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during transport, taking into consideration any specific needs or conditions.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols while transporting patients, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient transportation activities, including patient information, destination, and time of transport.
- Collaborate with nursing and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient transportation and ensure timely and efficient delivery of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior during transport, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
- Keep transport equipment and vehicles clean and in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, representing the organization positively to patients and visitors.
- Attend all required training and education sessions to maintain knowledge of patient transport procedures and protocols.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback for process improvement to enhance the patient experience.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department manager, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork within the department and organization.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Patient Transporter At Kettering Health Network Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
