  1. Greet and welcome patients and their families in a warm and friendly manner.
  2. Collect and verify patient information and ensure accuracy in electronic medical records.
  3. Schedule appointments and procedures for patients, coordinating with other departments as needed.
  4. Explain hospital policies and procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have.
  5. Provide compassionate and empathetic support to patients and their families during the intake process.
  6. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.
  7. Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork.
  8. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive patient information.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
  10. Utilize strong communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of surgical oncology procedures and treatments.
  12. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Kettering Health Network's services and offerings to provide accurate information to patients.
  13. Continuously strive to provide exceptional customer service and improve the patient experience.
  14. Follow all HIPAA guidelines and regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
  15. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to address any concerns or issues that may arise.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Patient Access Representative For Surgical Oncology At Kettering Health Network Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Be Able To Accurately Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Experience With Electronic Health Records (Ehr): Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records Is Essential For This Role, As The Patient Access Representative Will Be Responsible For Entering Patient Information, Scheduling Appointments, And Maintaining Accurate Records In The Hospital's Ehr System.

  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent Customer Service Skills Are A Must For This Position, As The Patient Access Representative Will Be The First Point Of Contact For Patients And Their Families. They Should Be Able To Provide Compassionate And Empathetic Care While Also Maintaining Professionalism.

  • Attention To Detail: A Patient Access Representative Must Have Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate And Complete Patient Information Is Collected And Recorded. This Includes Verifying Insurance Information, Collecting Copays, And Updating Patient Records.
