- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee the infection control program and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies for preventing and controlling infections.
- Develop and provide training and education programs for staff to promote infection control best practices.
- Monitor and analyze infection data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for staff regarding infection control practices.
- Investigate and report any suspected outbreaks or incidents of infection to appropriate authorities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of infection control activities, including incident reports and statistics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and stakeholders to stay current on infection control practices and regulations.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient safety and reduce the risk of infections.
- Collaborate with the Quality and Patient Safety team to develop and implement organization-wide patient safety initiatives.
- Stay informed on emerging infection control issues and trends through attending conferences, workshops, and networking with other professionals.
- Manage and oversee the budget for the infection control department.
- Hire, train, and supervise infection control staff, providing ongoing support and guidance.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Infection Control, Quality Management, Or Patient Safety In A Healthcare Setting.
Certification In Infection Control (Cic) Or Certified Professional In Healthcare Quality (Cphq) Preferred.
Strong Knowledge Of Infection Control Regulations, Standards, And Best Practices.
Excellent Leadership, Communication, And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams.
