As a Histotechnician, you will play a crucial role in our laboratory by preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination and analysis.   1. Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination and analysis in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and precise results.
  3. Follow established protocols and procedures for handling, processing, and storing tissue samples.
  4. Maintain accurate records of all samples and procedures performed.
  5. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the laboratory team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of results.
  7. Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during the sample preparation process.
  8. Stay current with new techniques and technologies in the field of histotechnology.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
  11. Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  12. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
  13. Assist with training and mentoring new histotechnicians.
  14. Keep accurate inventory of supplies and reorder as needed.
  15. Communicate any issues or concerns to laboratory management in a timely manner.
  16. Uphold the values and mission of Kettering Health Network in all aspects of work.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) From Ascp Or Equivalent Organization.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare System.

  • Knowledge And Proficiency In Various Histological Techniques, Such As Embedding, Sectioning, Staining, And Microscopy.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Work Independently, Multitask, And Prioritize Workload In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment.
