- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination and analysis in a timely and accurate manner.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and precise results.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for handling, processing, and storing tissue samples.
- Maintain accurate records of all samples and procedures performed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with other members of the laboratory team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of results.
- Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during the sample preparation process.
- Stay current with new techniques and technologies in the field of histotechnology.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
- Assist with training and mentoring new histotechnicians.
- Keep accurate inventory of supplies and reorder as needed.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to laboratory management in a timely manner.
- Uphold the values and mission of Kettering Health Network in all aspects of work.
A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) From Ascp Or Equivalent Organization.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare System.
Knowledge And Proficiency In Various Histological Techniques, Such As Embedding, Sectioning, Staining, And Microscopy.
Demonstrated Ability To Work Independently, Multitask, And Prioritize Workload In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment.
