
EKG Technician

- Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) tests on patients using specialized equipment and following established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for EKG procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Record and monitor patient vital signs during EKG testing.
- Analyze EKG readings and identify any abnormalities or irregularities.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of EKG results.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret EKG results and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain and calibrate EKG equipment to ensure accurate readings.
- Educate patients on the EKG procedure and answer any questions or concerns.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in EKG technology.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients throughout the EKG testing process.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.
Certification As A Cardiovascular Technician (Cct) Or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Rcis) Through A Recognized Accrediting Body.
Completion Of A Formal Training Program In Electrocardiography Or Cardiovascular Technology.
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience As An Ekg Technician In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Cardiac Anatomy And Physiology, As Well As Various Cardiac Monitoring Equipment And Procedures.
Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Healthcare Team Members, Patients, And Families.
