Job Description

If so, Kettering Health Network is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Clinical Lab Assistant in our Pathology department. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of pathologists and technologists by performing a variety of laboratory tasks including specimen processing, data entry, and quality control. A strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.   1. Perform specimen processing and handling in a timely and accurate manner to ensure efficient workflow and timely results for patients.
  2. Adhere to established protocols and quality control procedures to maintain accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  3. Enter and maintain data accurately and efficiently in laboratory information systems.
  4. Collaborate with pathologists, technologists, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.
  5. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders regarding laboratory processes and results.
  6. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and reagents to ensure availability and proper storage.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment for self and others.
  8. Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on new procedures and protocols.
  9. Meet productivity and quality standards set by the department and organization.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized records of laboratory procedures, results, and other data as required by regulatory agencies.
  11. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as needed.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent patient care and improving patient outcomes through accurate and timely diagnostic services.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Technician (Mlt) Or Clinical Laboratory Assistant (Cla).

  • Associate's Degree In Medical Laboratory Technology Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment, Including Phlebotomy And Specimen Processing.

  • Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
