  1. Develop and maintain high-quality, reliable, and scalable backend solutions for Justworks' HR and benefits platform.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver innovative and user-friendly features.
  3. Continuously improve and optimize existing codebase to ensure maximum efficiency and performance.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply them to enhance the company's technology stack.
  5. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to maintain code quality and consistency.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping them to grow and develop their skills.
  8. Contribute to the overall technical strategy and architecture of the company.
  9. Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration and smooth functioning of the entire software ecosystem.
  10. Actively participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
  11. Communicate project status, issues, and solutions effectively to team members and stakeholders.
  12. Take ownership of projects and drive them to successful completion.
  13. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  14. Continuously research and evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance the company's product offerings.
  15. Act as a technical leader and role model, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering team.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Backend Development: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Software Engineering, With A Strong Focus On Backend Development. They Should Be Proficient In Relevant Languages And Frameworks Such As Python, Java, And Node.js.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: As A Senior Software Engineer (Backend), Growth, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Identifying And Resolving Complex Technical Issues. They Should Have A Strong Aptitude For Problem-Solving And Be Able To Analyze Data And Make Data-Driven Decisions.

  • Expertise In Database Management: The Role Requires A Deep Understanding Of Database Management, Including Data Modeling, Query Optimization, And Database Performance Tuning. The Candidate Should Have Experience With Both Sql And Nosql Databases And Be Able To Design And Maintain Large-Scale Databases.

  • Leadership And Mentoring Abilities: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Candidate Should Have Strong Leadership Skills And Be Able To Mentor And Guide Junior Engineers. They Should Have Experience Leading Technical Projects And Be Able To Provide Technical Guidance To Cross-Functional Teams.

  • Knowledge Of Agile Development Methodologies: Justworks Follows Agile Development Methodologies, And The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working In An Agile Environment. They Should Be Comfortable With Continuous Integration And Deployment And Have A Strong Understanding Of Agile Principles And Practices.
