Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Director of Oncology Translational Research to join our team. In this role, you will drive the development and execution of our oncology translational research strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and advance promising therapies for cancer patients.   1. Develop and implement the oncology translational research strategy for Johnson & Johnson, in alignment with the overall company goals and objectives.
  2. Lead and manage a team of researchers and scientists to identify and advance promising therapies for cancer patients.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, regulatory affairs, and commercial teams, to ensure alignment and execution of the research strategy.
  4. Stay informed of the latest developments and advancements in the oncology field, and incorporate them into the research strategy as appropriate.
  5. Oversee the design and execution of pre-clinical studies and translational research projects, ensuring high-quality data and timely delivery.
  6. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the translational research process, identifying and implementing new technologies and methodologies.
  7. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the team.
  8. Develop and manage the budget for the oncology translational research department.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including academic institutions and biotech companies, to identify potential collaborations and opportunities for advancement.
  10. Represent Johnson & Johnson at scientific conferences and meetings, presenting research findings and networking with key opinion leaders in the field.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including ethical and safety standards.
  12. Provide regular updates to senior management on the progress and results of the oncology translational research program.
  13. Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
  14. Collaborate with human resources to recruit and onboard new team members as needed.
  15. Act as a role model for ethical behavior and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Oncology, Biology, Or Pharmacology.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Oncology Translational Research, With A Proven Track Record Of Success In Developing And Implementing Innovative Strategies.

  • Extensive Knowledge And Understanding Of The Drug Development Process, Including Preclinical And Clinical Phases, As Well As Regulatory Requirements.

  • Strong Leadership And Managerial Skills, With Experience In Leading And Developing A Team Of Scientists And Researchers.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And External Partners.
