  1. Conduct research and development of upstream processes for our biologic drug pipeline.
  2. Optimize and improve existing upstream processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including downstream development, analytical development, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless process integration.
  4. Analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions and recommendations for process improvements.
  5. Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters and identify potential areas for optimization.
  6. Develop and validate scale-down models for upstream processes.
  7. Write and review technical reports and documentation related to upstream development activities.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines in the development and optimization of upstream processes.
  9. Mentor and train junior team members in bioprocess engineering techniques and methodologies.
  10. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in upstream development and incorporate them into our processes.
  11. Participate in the planning and execution of technology transfer to manufacturing sites.
  12. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including presenting data and findings to management and external partners.
  13. Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping of all experiments and results.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
  15. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, in the laboratory and workplace.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Life Sciences: A Senior Associate Scientist Upstream Development At Johnson & Johnson Should Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Or Molecular Biology. A Phd Is Preferred.

  • Extensive Experience In Upstream Development: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Upstream Development, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Or Biotechnology Industry. This Should Include Experience In Cell Culture, Process Development, And Scale-Up.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Abilities To Design And Execute Experiments, Troubleshoot Issues, And Optimize Processes.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: A Senior Associate Scientist Upstream Development Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements And Guidelines, Such As Cgmp And Ich Guidelines, To Ensure Compliance In All Aspects Of The Job.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: This Role Involves Working Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Therefore, Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential. The Candidate Should Also Be Able To Effectively Present Data And Findings To Both Technical And Non-Technical Audiences.
