Job Description

As a Research Scientist at Johnson & Johnson's Downstream Processing department, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing bioprocesses for the production of life-saving pharmaceuticals.   1. Conduct research and development activities related to downstream processing methods and techniques for the production of pharmaceuticals.
  2. Design and execute experiments to optimize and improve existing bioprocesses, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Analyze and interpret data to draw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations for process improvements.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  5. Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in downstream processing and apply them to improve processes and products.
  6. Design and implement process validation studies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  7. Prepare and present research findings and progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  8. Contribute to the development of patents, publications, and presentations to showcase your research and findings.
  9. Mentor and train junior team members in experimental techniques, data analysis, and laboratory safety protocols.
  10. Participate in project planning and budgeting activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  11. Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, protocols, and results in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  12. Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines in the laboratory and ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  13. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to source new technologies and equipment to enhance downstream processing capabilities.
  14. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to ensure smooth operation of processes.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Or Biotechnology.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Downstream Processing, Preferably In A Pharmaceutical Or Biotech Industry Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Protein Purification Techniques And Experience With Various Chromatography Methods.

  • Knowledge Of Cgmp Regulations And Experience With Process Development And Optimization.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Design And Execute Experiments And Interpret Data.
