  1. Grade Assignments: The Teaching Assistant - Grader will be responsible for grading assignments and providing feedback to students in the Biomedical Engineering Innovation program.
  2. Support Student Learning: The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting student learning by providing assistance and guidance to students in understanding course material and assignments.
  3. Maintain Course Standards: The Teaching Assistant - Grader will ensure that all grading is consistent and aligns with course standards and expectations.
  4. Communicate with Students: This role requires effective communication skills to provide timely and constructive feedback to students and answer any questions they may have regarding their assignments.
  5. Collaborate with Faculty: The Teaching Assistant - Grader will work closely with the faculty to understand course objectives and grading criteria, and to provide support in developing course materials.
  6. Attend Course Meetings: The individual in this role will be required to attend course meetings and provide input on course content and assignments.
  7. Manage Grading Timelines: The Teaching Assistant - Grader will be responsible for managing grading timelines to ensure that all assignments are graded in a timely manner.
  8. Maintain Confidentiality: As a member of the university team, the individual in this role must maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards when handling student information.
  9. Stay Updated on Course Material: The individual in this role will be responsible for staying updated on course material and any changes to assignments or grading criteria.
  10. Promote a Positive Learning Environment: The Teaching Assistant - Grader will promote a positive learning environment by fostering a supportive and collaborative relationship with students.
  11. Contribute to Program Development: The individual in this role will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Biomedical Engineering Innovation program by providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  12. Uphold University Standards: The Teaching Assistant - Grader will uphold the standards of Johns Hopkins University and represent the university in a professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field: A Teaching Assistant - Grader For Bmei At Johns Hopkins University Should Possess At Least A Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or A Closely Related Field. This Will Ensure That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In The Subject Matter And Can Effectively Assist Students With Their Coursework.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Teaching Assistant - Grader, The Candidate Will Be Required To Work Closely With Students, Faculty, And Other Staff Members. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effectively Conveying Information And Building Positive Relationships.

  • Previous Teaching Or Grading Experience: Prior Experience As A Teaching Assistant Or Grader In A Similar Field Will Be Highly Beneficial For This Role. It Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Effectively Assist Students And Evaluate Their Work.

  • Proficiency In Relevant Software And Tools: Bmei Is A Rapidly Evolving Field, And It Is Crucial For A Teaching Assistant - Grader To Be Proficient In Relevant Software And Tools Used In The Curriculum. This Includes Programs Such As Matlab, Solidworks, And Comsol.

  • Organizational And Time-Management Skills: The Role Of A Teaching Assistant - Grader Requires The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks And Deadlines Simultaneously. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills To Effectively Balance Their Own Coursework With Their Duties As A Grader.
