
Sr. Training Specialist, SOM Finance

- Develop and implement training programs for the SOM Finance department in line with the institution's values of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Identify training needs and gaps within the finance team and create targeted training sessions to address them.
- Create and maintain training materials, including manuals, presentations, and online resources, to support the development of the finance team.
- Ensure that all training programs are up-to-date and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with department leaders to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Act as the subject matter expert for finance-related training topics and provide guidance and support to both trainers and trainees.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in finance and training, and incorporate them into training programs as appropriate.
- Mentor and train new finance team members, as well as provide ongoing support and guidance to existing team members.
- Evaluate the impact of training programs on the development and success of the finance team and provide regular reports to management.
- Act as a liaison between the finance department and the institution's HR department to ensure that training and development efforts align with organizational goals and strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and promotes professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with external training providers and vendors to source and deliver relevant and effective training programs for the finance team.
- Continuously seek feedback from trainees and adjust training programs as needed to meet their needs and goals.
- Participate in relevant professional development activities to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills in both finance and training.
- Uphold the values and standards of Johns Hopkins University and act as a role model for the finance team.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Developing And Delivering Training Programs, Preferably In A Financial Setting.
Bachelor's Degree In Business, Finance, Or Related Field Required; Master's Degree Preferred.
Strong Knowledge Of Financial Concepts And Principles, Including Budgeting, Forecasting, And Financial Analysis.
Excellent Communication And Presentation Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Influence Diverse Audiences.
Proven Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
