As a Security Systems Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the security systems on our campus.   1. Maintain and enhance security systems: Continuously monitor and update security systems to ensure they are functioning at optimal levels. This includes conducting regular maintenance checks, troubleshooting any issues, and implementing necessary upgrades.
  2. Conduct security assessments: Perform regular assessments of the security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and make recommendations for improvements.
  3. Install and configure security systems: Utilize your technical expertise to install, configure, and integrate security systems such as CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  4. Provide technical support: Serve as a primary point of contact for any technical issues related to security systems. Troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
  5. Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other members of the security team to ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to campus security. Provide support and assistance as needed.
  6. Maintain documentation: Keep detailed records of all security system installations, upgrades, and maintenance. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry trends: Continuously research and stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends, and best practices. Make recommendations for implementing new systems or upgrades as needed.
  8. Train staff: Conduct training sessions for staff on how to properly use security systems and respond to security incidents. Provide ongoing support and education to ensure staff are proficient in utilizing the systems.
  9. Ensure compliance: Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and university policies related to security systems. Stay informed about any changes or updates and ensure systems are in compliance.
  10. Demonstrate commitment to safety: Uphold the university's commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff. Respond promptly and effectively to any security incidents or emergencies.
  11. Participate in emergency response: Serve as a key member of the university's emergency response team. Be prepared to assist in emergency situations and support other security personnel as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Designing, Implementing, And Maintaining Security Systems.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Best Practices In Information Security, Such As Cissp, Cism, Or Sans Certifications.

  • Experience With Network Security, Intrusion Detection And Prevention, And Vulnerability Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively In A Dynamic Team Environment.
