As a Security Officer on our day shift team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the protection and well-being of our community.   1. Monitor and patrol designated areas of the campus to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff.
  2. Respond promptly to any security or safety concerns, including but not limited to, medical emergencies, criminal activity, or safety hazards.
  3. Conduct regular security checks of buildings and facilities, including locking and unlocking doors as needed.
  4. Enforce campus policies and procedures to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all members of the community.
  5. Provide excellent customer service by assisting and directing visitors, students, and staff as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate logs and reports of all security incidents and activities.
  7. Collaborate with other security personnel and law enforcement agencies as necessary.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on security protocols and procedures.
  9. Act as a positive and professional representative of Johns Hopkins University at all times.
  10. Follow all safety and security protocols and guidelines set forth by the institution.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge Of Security Procedures And Protocols, Including Emergency Response And Crisis Management.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement Or Security, Preferably In A Campus Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Ability To Work Independently And Make Quick And Effective Decisions In High-Stress Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Students, Faculty, Staff, And Visitors In A Professional And Respectful Manner.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent; Additional Training And Certifications In Security Or Law Enforcement Are A Plus.
