
Police Dispatcher

- Receive emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and other agencies, and accurately gather and record information.
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services and personnel, including police, fire, and medical responders, to incidents on campus.
- Monitor and track the location and status of emergency responders and provide updates to responding units as needed.
- Communicate with and provide support to officers and other emergency personnel in the field.
- Coordinate with other departments and agencies, such as campus security, local police, and fire departments, to ensure a timely and effective response to emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all calls, dispatches, and other relevant information.
- Monitor and respond to alarms and other security systems, and take appropriate action as necessary.
- Operate and maintain various communication equipment, including radios, telephones, and computer systems.
- Stay up-to-date on all safety, security, and emergency response protocols and procedures.
- Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations, and provide reassurance and assistance to callers in distress.
- Provide excellent customer service to all members of the campus community and the public.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the dispatch center.
