
Ophthalmic Technician

- Perform ophthalmic diagnostic tests and procedures accurately and efficiently, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and visual field testing.
- Assist ophthalmologists in patient care, including documenting patient histories, administering medications, and providing pre-and post-operative care.
- Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patient information, test results, and procedures performed.
- Educate patients on eye health and proper care of contact lenses and other corrective devices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and comprehensive care for patients.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on advancements in ophthalmic technology and techniques.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Contribute to research projects and clinical trials, assisting with data collection and analysis.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the ophthalmology department or supervising ophthalmologist.
Bachelor's Degree In Ophthalmic Science Or Related Field
Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Credential
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Ophthalmic Technician In A Clinical Setting
Proficiency In Administering Diagnostic Tests And Procedures Such As Visual Acuity Testing, Tonometry, And Retinal Imaging
Strong Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Diseases, Treatments, And Medications, As Well As Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations And Patient Confidentiality.
