
Intellectual Property Manager

- Manage and oversee all aspects of the university's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Develop and implement strategies to protect the university's intellectual property assets and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential intellectual property opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and other stakeholders to identify and evaluate inventions and innovations with commercial potential.
- Facilitate the timely filing of patent applications and manage the prosecution process.
- Negotiate and draft agreements related to intellectual property, including licensing, confidentiality, and material transfer agreements.
- Monitor and track intellectual property-related deadlines and ensure compliance with all legal and contractual obligations.
- Provide guidance and training to faculty, staff, and students on intellectual property policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as industry collaborators and patent attorneys, to advance the university's intellectual property goals.
- Stay current with developments in intellectual property law and industry trends, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the university's intellectual property program.
- Represent the university in intellectual property-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with other departments and offices within the university, such as technology transfer and sponsored research, to promote and support the commercialization of intellectual property.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all intellectual property-related activities.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Participate in relevant professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of intellectual property management.
Bachelor's Or Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Law, Business, Or Science.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Intellectual Property Management, Preferably In A University Setting.
Knowledge Of Patent And Trademark Law, Including Experience With Licensing Agreements And Patent Prosecution.
Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills To Effectively Interact With Faculty, Students, And External Partners.
Familiarity With Technology Transfer Processes And The Ability To Identify And Evaluate Potential Commercialization Opportunities.
