- Conduct thorough risk assessments and analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities within the organization's systems, processes, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with various departments and teams to ensure a holistic approach to security and risk management.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external security partners and vendors to enhance the university's security capabilities.
- Lead and manage a team of security professionals to effectively execute security and risk management initiatives.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the status of security threats and risks, as well as the effectiveness of mitigation efforts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related incidents and provide timely and effective response and resolution.
- Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for employees to increase security awareness and promote a culture of security throughout the organization.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the organization's security posture and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Manage the security budget and ensure resources are allocated effectively to address critical security needs.
- Act as a liaison between the university and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to address security concerns and facilitate information sharing.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the security team.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Security, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Security Threat And Risk Analysis, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Current Security Threats And Risks In The Higher Education Sector.
Experience With Risk Assessment Methodologies And Tools.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Mentor A Team Of Analysts.
