
Director, HR Policy and Compliance

- Develop and maintain human resources policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as university policies.
- Monitor and assess changes in laws and regulations related to human resources and ensure that policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure that HR policies and practices align with the university's mission and values.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, including employee relations, performance management, and benefits.
- Develop and implement training programs to promote awareness and understanding of HR policies and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and industry standards related to HR compliance and make recommendations for improvement to senior leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR compliance inquiries and investigations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and legal counsel to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Oversee and manage any necessary corrective actions or disciplinary measures related to HR compliance issues.
- Lead and supervise a team of HR professionals to ensure efficient and effective management of HR policies and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, to promote a culture of compliance and inclusivity.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the HR policies and practices.
- Act as a representative of the university in all matters related to HR compliance and policies.
- Continuously assess and improve HR policies and practices to create a fair and equitable workplace for all members of the Johns Hopkins University community.
Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Hr Policy Development And Compliance, Preferably In A Higher Education Or Healthcare Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Federal And State Employment Laws And Regulations, Including Eeo, Ada, Fmla, And Flsa.
Proven Experience In Developing And Implementing Hr Policies And Procedures That Align With Organizational Goals And Values.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders And Manage A Team.
