  1. Develop and implement strategies for preserving and organizing digital assets at Johns Hopkins University.
  2. Manage the ingestion, organization, description, and preservation of digital materials using specialized software and tools.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and individuals to identify and acquire valuable digital materials for the university's archives.
  4. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure the integrity and accessibility of digital collections.
  5. Create and maintain detailed documentation and metadata for all digital assets in accordance with archival best practices.
  6. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in digital archiving and recommend new tools and techniques to improve processes.
  7. Train and educate staff and students on proper procedures for handling and managing digital assets.
  8. Participate in outreach and promotional activities to raise awareness of the university's digital collections and services.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the university and external organizations for collaborative digital archiving projects.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in the handling of sensitive or restricted materials.
  11. Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans for digital collections.
  12. Collaborate with other archivists and professionals in the field to share knowledge and resources and promote best practices in digital archiving.
  13. Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance skills and knowledge in digital archiving.
  14. Handle any other duties and responsibilities related to digital archiving as assigned by superiors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Library And Information Science, Archival Studies, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working With Digital Archives In A Professional Setting

  • Strong Knowledge Of Archival Principles And Best Practices, Including Appraisal, Arrangement, Description, And Preservation Of Digital Materials

  • Familiarity With Relevant Digital Preservation Tools And Technologies, Such As Digital Repository Systems, Metadata Standards, And Digital Imaging Software

  • Excellent Organizational And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Projects And Meet Deadlines In A Fast-Paced Environment.
