- Ensure the safety and security of all individuals on campus, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Patrol the campus on foot, bike, or vehicle to deter and respond to any criminal activity or safety hazards.
- Enforce university policies and local, state, and federal laws.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
- Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence for reported crimes or incidents.
- Write detailed and accurate reports of all incidents and activities.
- Collaborate with other campus departments and local law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe and secure campus.
- Serve as a resource for students, faculty, and staff regarding safety and security concerns.
- Conduct safety and security training for the campus community.
- Maintain and update knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures related to campus safety and security.
- Use effective communication and de-escalation techniques to handle volatile situations.
- Display a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with individuals on campus.
- Attend regular trainings and meetings to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and make recommendations for improvements.
- Act as a positive role model and ambassador for the university by upholding its values and promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Completion Of A Certified Police Academy Program And Possession Of A Valid Law Enforcement Certification.
At Least Two Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement, Preferably In A Campus Or University Setting.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Students, Faculty, And Staff From Diverse Backgrounds.
Ability To Make Sound Decisions Under Pressure, Respond Quickly To Emergency Situations, And Maintain A Calm And Professional Demeanor At All Times.
