- Provide legal guidance and support to the healthcare and research institutions at Johns Hopkins University.
- Collaborate with a team of attorneys to advise on complex legal matters related to healthcare regulations, research compliance, and transactions.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Advise on risk management and mitigation strategies to protect the institution's interests.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements related to healthcare and research.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including healthcare and research professionals, to understand their legal needs and provide effective solutions.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare laws and regulations and advise the institution on potential impact.
- Conduct trainings and educational sessions for staff on legal and regulatory issues related to healthcare and research.
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Represent the institution in legal proceedings related to healthcare and research matters.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and professional codes of conduct.
- Work closely with external legal counsel as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to junior legal staff.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to healthcare and research.
Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School.
Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience Practicing Healthcare And Research Law, Preferably In A Large Academic Medical Center Or Healthcare System.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal And State Healthcare Laws And Regulations, Including Hipaa, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, And Medicare/Medicaid Reimbursement.
Experience In Negotiating And Drafting A Wide Range Of Healthcare And Research Related Agreements, Such As Clinical Trial Agreements, Research Collaboration Agreements, And Vendor Contracts.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Advise And Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Physicians, Researchers, Administrators, And External Legal Counsel.
