1. Serve as the primary ASL interpreter for all Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, faculty, and staff at Johns Hopkins University.
2. Provide high-quality interpretation services for a variety of settings, including lectures, meetings, events, and one-on-one interactions.
3. Lead a team of ASL interpreters, including assigning and coordinating schedules, providing training and feedback, and ensuring the team's adherence to professional standards.
4. Collaborate with the Disability Services department to identify and address the unique needs of Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
5. Stay up-to-date on best practices and standards in ASL interpretation and apply them to daily work.
6. Advocate for the needs of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community on campus and work towards creating an inclusive and accessible environment.
7. Maintain accurate records of interpreted assignments and communicate with relevant parties regarding scheduling and logistics.
8. Serve as a resource for the university community regarding Deaf culture, ASL, and accessibility.
9. Stay informed about university policies and procedures related to accommodation services and ensure compliance.
10. Continuously evaluate and improve interpretation services in collaboration with the team and university stakeholders.
