- Assist with the daily care and maintenance of aquatic animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health and behavior.
- Work closely with the research team to ensure the proper handling and care of animals during experiments and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and research activities.
- Help maintain a clean and safe working environment for both animals and staff.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of materials and equipment for research and educational activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and researchers to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the animals and compliance with regulations.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to aquatic animal care and research.
- Collaborate with other team members to implement new protocols and procedures to improve the facility's operations.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors and guests of the facility, including students, faculty, and external researchers.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of educational programs and public outreach events related to the facility and its animals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatic Animal Facility Manager or other supervisory staff.
Bachelor's Degree In Marine Biology, Zoology, Or A Related Field.
Prior Experience Working With Aquatic Animals In A Professional Or Educational Setting.
Knowledge Of Animal Care And Husbandry Techniques For Various Aquatic Species.
Familiarity With Regulatory Compliance And Safety Protocols For Working With Aquatic Animals.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Team And Interact With Visitors And Researchers.
